Factur's QR Labels
What the heck is a QR label? QR (Quick Response) labels allow Facturians to look up information on a specific machine. Scanning a QR label affixed to the machine with your smartphone will send you to the Factur Wiki page for that piece of equipment. Once there you can access the manual for that piece of equipment, view how-to videos and order consumables . Your smartphone may already have a QR label scanner but if you have an iPhone you'll need to get an app for that.
According to Wikipedia:
"The QR code system was invented in 1994 by Denso Wave. Its purpose was to track vehicles during manufacturing; it was designed to allow high-speed component scanning. QR codes are now used in a much broader context, including both commercial tracking applications and convenience-oriented applications aimed at mobile-phone users (termed mobile tagging). QR codes may be used to display text to the user, to add a vCard contact to the user's device, to open a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI), or to compose an email or text message. Users can generate and print their own QR codes for others to scan and use via downloadable or online applications. The technology has since become one of the most used types of two-dimensional barcode."
